Larry Don Lain , 88, of Knox City passed away Dec. 11, 2024. Larry was born in Haskell County Nov. 25, 1936, to Leita Lane and William Fred Lain.

The loves of Larrys life were Dorothy Jean Pack of Knox City, daughter Patti, and wife Betty Jean Nolan of Lake Buchanan. Larry was widowed and will be laid to rest with his wife Betty.

Visitation is planned for Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 from 6-7 p.m. at the home of Patti Lain, 11501 State Hwy. 6 South, in Knox City. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 18, 2025 at Johnson Cemetery in Munday.

Larry graduated from Munday High School in 1954, where he played baseball, basketball and volleyball. He also won several ribbons in track and FFA.

Larry Don was a proud husband and father. He was the owner of the barber shop in Knox City, farmed, managed Beachcombers RV park at Lake Buchanan, worked at Granite Shoals in Burnet County, and was a mail carrier in Lake Bu - chanan.

Larry never met a stranger. He loved life to the fullest and had many stories to tell. He loved to dance, play card games and dominoes. He golfed, hunted and loved boating.

Larry is survived by daughter Patti Lain of Knox City; grandsons Brandon Lewis of Knox City, Aaron Lewis of Pecos and wife Julie of Lubbock; great grandson Sloan Lewis; great granddaughters Skylar Lewis, Lainy Lewis and Becca Lewis of Lubbock; sister Joan Lain Ludtke and husband Wally of Abilene; nieces Pam Pack, Tracye Lain Stinson, Molly Moore; nephews Terry Lain, Johnny Lain, Andrew Shamblin, Mark Dean.

He was preceded in death by parents Leita Lane and Freddie Lain; brother Billy Jay Lain, Danny Max Lain; nephew BJ Lain.
