GARZA POST—“33 A.D.,’ a production of Ragtown Gospel Theater, pieces together the stories of four quixotic characters in the Bible, and highlights their roles in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Pontius Pilate, who hesitantly approved the execution of Jesus; Barabbas, the murderer Jesus replaced on the cross; the Centurion who pierced his side, spilling the blood of Christ; and Joseph of Arimathea, who supplied the tomb for Jesus were all caught up in events beyond their control.

County owned lots in Truscott may be traded

BENJAMIN – Jerry Bob Daniels addressed the Commissioners' Court during the regular monthly session on Apr. 8 regarding ownership of two lots in Truscott. A relative of Daniels’ has a small building on a lot that it appeared the county owned. Daniels had conflicting information from a map that was different than the map the county referenced. Judge Wojcik assured Daniels the county is willing to work out an agreement acceptable for both the county and Daniels, possibly trading nearby lots if necessary.

Eclipse brings out spectators

KNOX COUNTY – The total eclipse crossed Texas on Apr. 8 and brought out crowds all over the state and other areas of the country to view the eclipse as it continued across the USA.

MUNDAY – Superintendent Troy Parton sent this information to further define the work of a Trustee on the school board. This definition of a Trustee is from the firm of Eichelbaum Wardell Hansen Powell & Munoz, P.C. as supplied to the candidates by Supt. Parton: “Generally, a trustee of any kind has the responsibility to take care of something — usually money or other assets — for the benefit of another, the true owner of the assets (the beneficiary). Therefore, all of the trustee’s decisions are driven by what is best for the owner: What will maximize the return to the owner? What will be in the best interest of the owner?

Jim Bob Art Park & Nature Trails to host Earth Day event April 20

The Jim Bob Art Park & Nature Trails is pleased to announce that we are hosting our second Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 10am-2pm. The Park is located just north of Benjamin city limits, approximately 1.75 miles north of the intersection of State Hwy 6 and U.S. 82 on the west side of Hwy 6.
