Body Karen Longan, mayor pro tem of Munday, was unanimously appointed mayor at a special called meeting of the Munday city council on Wednesday, March 18. Longan was appointed to replace Chris Baker, who resigned the position in mid-March after being elected less than a year ago.

Body TROY PARTON | NEWS-COURIER Munday High School will host the District 16A One Act Play contest slated for Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The first play is set to begin at 2 p.m. The district contest will feature six plays performed live on stage by area high school students.
