Voters approve property tax exemptions and raises for retired teachers by large margins in Nov. 7 election

KNOX COUNTY – Proposition 4 allowing the state to spend$18billiononproperty taxcutsforhomeownersand businesses, cut school districts’ tax rates and other tax changes, passed with 83% of votes, and Proposition 9 providing retired teachers a cost-of-living raise passed with 84% of votes.

Council approves $56,000 donation for rodeo arena

MUNDAY – The City Council met in regular session on Nov. 14 and approved the grant from the Development Corporation of Munday – A Board (DCOM) for a donation of approximately $56,000 to the Munday Volunteer Fire Department to help fund the infrastructure of the new Rodeo Arena.
