Texans urged to heed travel warnings about Mexico

AUSTIN— Texans planning to travel to Mexico or currently visiting there are urged to closely follow warnings from the U.S. Department of State, which advises U.S. citizens to not travel to the states of Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Sinaloa and Tamaulipas.

In Knox County, (unofficial) election returns were compiled Tuesday night by county and district clerk Jeannie Clark, and in the contested Republican primary race for county judge, Larry Welch has taken the nomination with 325 votes over current appointee Don Thompson, with 112.

Munday High School will again host the District 16A One Act Play contest slated for March 24, 2026. The first play is set to begin at 2 p.m. The district contest will feature 6 plays performed live on stage by area high school students.The plays run in order, without a set start time.
