Benjamin opened defense of its Class 1A six-man Division 2 title in style last Friday, rolling to a 52-6 victory against Motley County and serving notice the Mustangs will not be an easy out this postseason. “I thought Friday night went really well,” head coach Nathan Hayes said.

Last week’s five-set nerve-wracking area match had an upside for Benjamin. November 2, the Lady Mustangs were within one set of elimination as Garner led 2-1. Two hard-fought sets later, Benjamin hoisted the area trophy to set up Tuesday night’s match with Electra.

For the second time in one week, the Knox City’s volleyball team defeated Rotan in District 8A play. The second meeting resulted in a victory that gives the Houndettes a chance to avenge a season-ending loss to Rankin one year ago.
