Knox City tennis advances to Regional Meet

The Knox City Tennis teams competed in the District 15-A Tennis Meet at Stamford High School this past Monday, April 29th. Out of the 9 athletes who competed, five have advanced to the Regional Meet held in San Angelo on May 9th and 10th.

Knox City athletes Callaway, Guillory to compete in Austin

After what was a long, stormy day at the Region 2-A Track and Field Meet in San Angelo on April 19th and 20th, two Knox City athletes punched their ticket to the 1A State Meet in Austin. Bryson Callaway, senior hurdler, ended the meet as the Region 2-A Champion in both the 110m (15.88) and 300m Hurdles (42.30). Devin Guillory, also a senior, found his way to the podium after finishing 2rd in both the 400m Dash (52.02) and the 200m Dash (22.94), to put himself in the running for the “wild card” in both events. After much anticipation, Guillory secured a lane in Austin in the 200m Dash. These two athletes will compete on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Knox County fans were treated to an exciting finish to Friday night’s rematch between the Houndettes and the Munday Mogulettes. Host Knox City took the win in the bottom of the seventh when Maddie Espinosa drove in teammate Miley Arrieta for the 17-16 walk-off victory.
