Moguls fall to Abilene Christian

Body The Munday Moguls took it on the chin April 6, losing a 13-3 road game against Abilene Christian High School.The Moguls managed only three hits to the host team’s six. ACHS, aggressive in the run game, recorded 14 stolen bases to only two for Munday.

Thompson Ranch wins KPIRR

Body At the end of the two-night event, April 3 and 4, the Thompson Ranch team won out over the 23 other teams taking home the 1st place prize.The Knox Prairie Invitational Ranch Rodeo is the fundraising event for the Munday Volunteer Fire Department for the year.
Benjamin’s production of “Kimberly Akimbo,” directed by Cody Propps, Jill Jackson, Stacie Propps and James Propps, was selected last week to advance to the area contest. The area contest is Thursday, April 9 at the Wylie HS Performing Arts Center (PAC); stay tuned to the News-Courier’s Facebook page for results after press time this week.There will be six plays, and no admission is charged. The city of Munday hosted an Easter egg hunt and a brown bag lunch fundraiser for the MundayVolunteer Fire Department on Saturday, April 4. Within minutes, 2,000 eggs were gone as were those doing the searching. The Easter Bunny made an appearance posing for pictures with kids of all ages. Prize eggs and a drawing for two Easter baskets.Those winners were not present, but will be contacted to get their prizes. | TROY PARTON
