Welch emerges winner in 4-way county judge race

Body In Knox County, (unofficial) election returns were compiled Tuesday night by county and district clerk Jeannie Clark, and in the contested Republican primary race for county judge, Larry Welch has taken the nomination with 325 votes over current appointee Don Thompson, with 112.

Munday hires Mineral Wells’ Ward for athletic, academic posts

Body Last week Munday Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) put out a statement to announce hiring of a new athletic director and head football coach.“I am excited to announce that Jeff Ward was unanimously approved by the school board last night,” the statement read.

Body Leegan Sanchez placed 2nd in his class with his lightweight duroc Big Red at the Fort Worth Junior livestock Show held over a two-day period February 4 and 5. Leegan’s barrow was the top-placing Texas-bred barrow in his weight class.
