Geneva M. Pennartz, 89, of Rhineland, passed away on Aug. 17, 2022. She was born Nov. 27, 1932 in Rhineland to Fred and Emma Redder. She and Julius Pennartz were married Nov. 16, 1957, also in Rhineland.

Geneva was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society and the Northwest Conference of Catholic Women.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband Julius, her parents and one brother Louis “Bud” Redder and wife Ilene.

She is survived by three sons Wayne Pennartz, Gary Pennartz both of Rhineland and Jerry Pennartz and wife Teresa of Harrold; three daughters Judy Malone and husband Matthew, Kathy Browning and husband Dwayne, and Carol Haigood and husband Alec all of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Bradley Pennartz, Anthony Pennartz and wife McKenna, Michael Malone, Jared Malone, Brandon Malone, Sara Malone, Jessica Malone, Chris McLain and wife Jessica, and Jeremy Mc-Lain and wife Camille; also three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Geneva was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and baking for family celebrations, especially Christmas. She always enjoyed Sunday afternoon visits with family and friends.

Geneva enjoyed working in her yard; in the past she always grew large family gardens and she loved to sit on the porch and admire her flowers.

Geneva and Julius would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 16th. The love and faith they shared is the legacy that her family will always cherish.

A rosary was held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rhineland. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, also at the church. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
