Harry Edward Steen, Jr, age 63, passed away on June 19, 2023, at the Haskell Memorial Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer.

Harry was born Sept. 4, 1959, in Albuquerque, NM, to Mary Lou and Harry Steen Sr. Harry attended Eastwood High School. In 1980 he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV.

In the late 80s Harry moved to Knox City and worked with a local cable company until enrolling in the Police Academy.

In 1993 he graduated from the Police Academy and became employed by the Knox City Police Department. After working his way up the ranks, Harry served as Chief of Police for several years in Knox County, including Knox City and Munday.

On Sept. 8, 2015, Harry married Jennifer Grindstaff in Weinert. Most recently he was employed by Big Honker Lodge and was given the opportunity to work with his closest friend Jeff Stanfield.

Harry is survived by his wife Jennifer Steen of Haskell; children Shayne Steen and wife Tracie of Lubbock, Chad Steen of El Paso, Aaron Skiles of Haskell, Becca Grindstaff of Knox City; siblings Holly Pendleton of Plano, Pam Percel and Gary of Allen, Laura Reza of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; best friend Jeff Stanfield and Michelle of Knox City; his four legged best friend Remi; and a host of other family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Harry Steen, Sr and Mary Lou Steen.

The family held a Celebration of Life service on Friday, June 30th, at the Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Knox City.
