Helen Francelle Echols,89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022. Funeral services were held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Throckmorton on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022 with Rev. Melissa Hudson officiating. Burial followed the service at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Francelle was born Sept. 15,1933 in Mabelle,to Addie (Benham) and Dewey Brady Underwood.She was the second of five children raised in a loving family.She graduated as one of the top students in her class from Seymour High School in 1957. Francelle married Carl (Buster) Echols on Nov. 17,1951. They resided in Seymour, Megargel, and moved to Goree in the early 70s where they resided for 35 years. Francelle served in the Goree School system for years, and then retired. She also kept books for Texas Well Service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goree where she served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon’s wife.

Buster and Francelle moved toThrockmorton after their retirement.They attended the First Assembly of God Church.Francelle was known for her cooking. She loved to feed her family and anyone who needed a meal. Francelle was a devoted wife, mother, granny and sister. She was a faithful Christian and lived the example for everyone to see. She will be immensely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Carla Dormier of Throckmorton; grandchildren Jeff Dormier, Josh Dormier, Susan Dormier, Sarah Vincent, Jarad Vincent, Mikah and Ron Hebert, Jacob and Stephanie Echols, and Caleb and Trisha Echols; great grandchildren Wren Vincent, Alex Herbert Zachary Hare, Johnnie Dormier, Hannah Echols, James Echols, Landon Echols; great-great grandchildren Evelynn Grace Hare and Addlynn Linsey Hare; sisters Elva Lois Barron of Graham, Martha Ann Townsend of Brownwood; brother Brady Underwood and wife Wilma of Yuba City, CA; sister-inlaw Judy Underwood; brother- in-law Joe Lloyd Echols and Stormy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Addie and Dewey Underwood; husband Carl (Buster) Echols; son Carl Michael (Mike) Echols; brother Jerry Underwood and numerous relatives.
