Jessie Pauline “Polly” (Fulbright) Cox, 97, a lifetime resident of Rule, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023 at the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation was planned for 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at the funeral home, 600 Robins Avenue in Rule.

Polly was born June 28, 1926 in Sagerton, to Lowell and Lucy (Singleton) Fulbright. She married L.B. Cox Jr. on June 5, 1945. She was a member of the Rule Church of Christ. She enjoyed taking care of her family and was a devout Christian. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife until her three children got older. She was a bank teller for over 40 years at Farmers National Bank in Rule, where she retired in 1999.

She is survived by daughter Nellon Dillard of Denton; grandchildren Kim Stafford and husband James of Knox City, Bryan Cox of Graham, Heath Dillard of Lubbock, Cary Ann Cox of Knox City; multiple great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; also multiple nieces, nephews, and daughter-in-law Shelly Cox of Knox City.

She was preceded in death by her husband L.B. Cox, Jr.; parents Lowell and Lucy Singleton Fulbright; daughter Pauletta Moore; son Gary Cox; sisters Etta Williams and Arya Mae Little; and brother M.D. Fulbright.
