Patsy Ruth Orr, age 89, crossed into heaven on Jan. 6,2024, after an abbreviated stay at Brazos Valley Nursing Facility. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at the Knox City Cemetery with Reverend Marq Brockett officiating under the direction of the Smith Family Funeral Home.
Patsy was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Olney, to Bessie (Ponder) and George Molloy. She married W.C. Orr on March 2,1953. She was a member of O’Brien Baptist Church in O’Brien.
Over her lifetime, Patsy worked in many different businesses including Bob’s Super Save, M-System, The Boutique and Citizens Bank, retiring from there around 1990.
Following retirement, she and W.C. moved to the farm near the river and enjoyed many years of raising cattle and grandkids. She loved “mothering” her many pets right up until the time she had to move to Brazos Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband W.C.; parents Bessie and George Molloy; son Alan Orr of Booker; sister Nancy Duncan of Knox City; and grandchild William Cory Brockett of Knox City. Patsy is survived by daughter Carolyn Brockett and husband Marq of Knox City; sister Marie Gollaher and husband Joe of Hearn; sister-in-law Mary Faye Orr of Graham; daughter-inlaw Ellen Orr of Perryton, brother-in-law Bill Duncan of Knox City; grandson Matthew Cody Brockett of White Settlement; granddaughter Kelsie Orr of Perryton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held at Gilliland Baptist Church at a later date.
