Houndettes named district runner up

Body The Knox City Houndettes have completed district play as of Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The Houndettes end their district play with a record of 1517, 2-2. They defeated Rotan on Tuesday, October 18th to earn the District 8A Runner Up Title.

Body The Benjamin Lady Stangs ended their first round of district play 3-0, after beating Paducah, Munday and Crowell. The Lady Stangs hosted Munday at The Box on Tuesday, October 11, with three games, junior high, JV and Varsity.

Body The Munday Moguls and Mogulette Cross Country runners have all qualified for the Regional Cross Country Meet on October 25th at Angelo State University. The Varsity Boys were led by Haiden Bowman and Chris Garcia, who finished 1st and 4th.

Knox City, O’Brien teams bring home hardware

Body Cross Country teams from Knox City and O’Brien traveled to Rotan last Wednesday to compete in the District 15A Cross Country Meet. Overall, each runner got out and competed well. Our Varsity Girls team finished 2nd overall and Advanced to the Regional Cross Country Meet.
ANSON—MTC Bluebonnet Detention Center recently donated $750 to the Abilene Cowboys Youth Football team. Warden Steve Mora encouraged the team to continue to work hard both on and off the field. Organization President Jay Williams said the funds will be used to allow all eligible youth to participate, regardless of their ability to pay. Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE). Courtesy photo

Houndettes win at Rotan

Body The Knox City Houndettes, JV and Varsity squads, picked up their first district wins in Rotan on Saturday morning. JV beat the Lady Hammers in two straight sets. In the Varsity match, the Houndettes dropped the first set 16-25.We got off to a slow, slow start in Rotan.

Body The Benjamin Lady Stangs opened district play last week as they traveled to Paducah for JUnior High and Varsity matches on Tuesday. Junior High won in straight sets, looking good with big hits from Jaylee Lowe and Emily Silva.

Body Lady Stangs had an eventful week. On Tuesday, our varsity took on a new and improved Harrold team at a neutral site. The Lady Stangs fell short in the first two sets and fought back to push the match to 5 sets before falling in the 5th set 15-12.
